1. Ampera Bridge
The city’s landmark and one that is spectacular at night when fully lit. The bridge was built by the Japanese as reparation after the Second World War. The Ampera Bridge is also being called the Golden Gate bridge of Indonesia, as it is almost as impressive.

Not only is the museum rich in its collections, but the building itself is a historical legacy, as it is a monument of the golden age of the Palembang Sultanate. The building has a fascinating semi-circular staircase and is a combination of traditional Malay and colonial architecture. Constructed on the site of the former Sultan’s Palace, it was built by the Dutch in 1823.
